Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat Center offers a contrast of cool green woods with warm sand dunes and a beautiful shoreline. RV and tent sites are available for group/individual/family camping. Youth Campers will bunk in canvas platform tents that keep them off the ground but still able to connect with nature. Come have fun with friends through beach Olympics, soccer, team building, kayaking, sand boarding, archery, sling shot, volleyball, kickball, tire swing, floor hockey, life-size chess set, hiking trails, mountain biking, basketball, and swimming in the lake! Experience God through music, Bible-based activities and lessons fire bowls, or maybe just watching the sun set over the horizon. This year we have a limited number of toddler t’s in our camp store. Look how adorable our new ”Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat -one of God’s special places” fish shirt is. Yes, our little model is adorable too!
Meet our youth camp Life Guard Josh Hall. Josh grew up attending Wesley Woods but has been an active part of the summer youth programs at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat for the past ten years. Josh will be returning this year as our Life Guard and he is pondering a Life Guard riddle: What did the pool say the lake? Youth Campers help Josh out by solving his riddle. Parents your kids are going to have a blast at the Lake under the watchful eyes of Josh! Youth camps check in start in 15 days!
Raise the Roof update
Meet repeat summer staff member Irene Trierweiler. Irene’s love for our camp comes from growing up attending Lake Michigan Camp’s youth camps and attended Family Camps with the Lowell UM Church. Irene is a 2019 graduate of Lowell High School and today is her BIRTHDAY. Happy Birthday Irene, we are so excited to have you back at the lake!
Who likes to split wood? We are looking for volunteers who would like to donate some time during the next week or two building our wood pile. If interested, call the camp office at 231-869-5627. A free campsite or tent could be available.

What a week we had at Lake Michigan Camp and Retreat. We started with Memorial Day celebrations and went right into our First Annual state wide Home School Camp with over 60 participants. We love our new Home School Camp friends and can’t wait for you to return!
Look what’s new at our camp store - a limited edition of “Sleeping Under the Stars” coloring PILLOWCASES! Sweet Dreams are made at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat.
This past week marked many milestones at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat: four new cabins were slept in for the first time, a new RV dumping station was opened, we surprised two families with upgraded platform tents, had a concert, hosted 6 groups ( Community UMC Muskegon, Comstock Group, Trinity UMC, Okemos UMC, House of Prayer, Boy Scout Troop #763) and dozens of individual families totaling over 400 guest AND somehow we raised $5,000 towards the new pole barn. It has been exciting! But in our excitement today, we want to take moment to pause and remember those men and women who died while serving this great Country that we get to live in! We are blessed because of the sacrifice of others! Happy Memorial Day!

This has been a year coming! It’s exciting but it isn’t our big announcement!
Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat is excited to announce additions for our summer 2019 youth camp programs. *July 14 - 20 Crystal Spring's FAITH, FUN & FINE ARTS led by Diana Earles of Schoolcraft UMC. This program will replace the Great Cardboard Challenge. *July 21 - 27 Camp Kinawind's HIGH SCHOOL CANADIAN KAYAK ADVENTURE led by Dan Duncan of First UMC Kalamazoo & Chris Lane of Travers City UMC. LIMIT of 12 *July 14 -20 and July 21-27 HORSE CAMP & SAILING CAMP HORSE CAMPERS will train Monday - Thursday from 9-12 and enjoy a 6 hour trail ride on Friday. Campers will participate in onsite programs in the afternoon. LIMIT of 10 SAILING CAMPERS will train at the Pentwater Yacht Club every afternoon from 1:30 - 3:30. When at camp, sailors will participate in onsite programs.
